Happy Halloween!

Our friends had a Halloween Party last night; which meant I had to decide on a costume again. Early in the week, Josh and I went to The Arc thrift store to check out their selection of costumes, and they had an entire Halloween section full of them! But, I had no idea what I wanted to be, and picked out this Hawaiian dress, and decided to be "Hawaiian." Needless to say, when I got home and tried the dress on, it fit me weird and I didn't like it. ha! I still had no idea what to be until yesterday morning, when "crazy cat lady" popped into my head, lol. I figured I'd get the dogs, cat ears, and they could be my cats. I pulled out some old glasses, old sweater, found a t-shirt I didn't need anymore and wrote "I Heart Cats" on it... I got two buttons of cats, wore pajama pants and slippers. It was a comfy Halloween, that's for sure! Josh dressed up as Dexter (the guy from the TV show, he is a serial killer) but only one other person actually knew who he was, so he was a little bummed about that.
At the party there were some clever costumes, a Freudian Slip, "uninsured", some scary costumes, and as always, some "hot" costumes, a cute bunny and Little Red Riding Hood?.
If my dogs, er, cats, could have kept their ears on, it might have been funnier for me :)
Here is me with my black cat :)

Before the party we went and saw Heather and Russ, and new baby Jillian, who is nearly 1 month old! She wore her pumpkin outfit that we got her when she was born, it was adorable! We passed out candy to the kids in their neighborhood, and saw the cutest costumes on the littlest kids :)
Halloween is such fun, now the official "holiday season" has started...and I really need to start my Christmas gifts.

October blizzard, 2009

Not even Halloween yet, and Colorado has had it's first snowstorm!
What happened to fall??? We had some beautiful fall weather for about a week and then we had our first snow (of just a couple inches) which knocked all the leaves off the trees....then Tuesday night, the snow started to fall again. The weatherlady was sternly saying the snow was coming 8-14" for the foothills, that seemed like a lot of snow...but when we woke up Wednesday morning, we already had at least 14" of snow, and it was still coming down!
It snowed heavily all day Wednesday and throughout the night, we woke up to at least two feet this morning! Josh and I took some time to go and play in the snow, it wasn't wet enough to make snow-people...I was bummed about that. Mostly the dogs just wanted to go inside, but Belle at least managed to play a little bit.

Finally, some new items and good news!

It's been a while, but I finally have some new items up for grabs on Hip-Threads.com. With more to come soon :) Including three pairs of pants, two are made of some new hemp that I just got, the other pair are a patchwork sidepanel pair made from recycled jeans. I am excited to post them! But the next week is very busy for us....Josh FINALLY got a new job! This economy has been rough, but after nearly 1 year of searching, he has gotten a good, full time job! He starts next Monday!
Also next weekend our friends get married, and we have guests flying in from out of town. It should be fun! But I am not sure if I will get the pants done...we'll see.

New hats made by Christina! Awesome, fleece hats, great for the fall and winter weather
and so cute and stylish!!! I love this brown hat with the ruffly flower. She also has this super cute purple fleece butterfly hat available, a striped corduroy hat and more!

Also, Saraa from Hemp Love is back making jewelry for the site! She makes awesome hemp necklaces and bracelets ~ they are unique and stylish.

She has several different styles of jewelry all made from hemp and they range in price from just $15 bucks to $35.
